After You've Gone - Django Reinhardt (Transcription)
You can't study jazz guitar without studying Django Reinhardt. He is the originator. Along with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, he formed the Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1934, the first jazz band to feature guitar as a lead instrument. In 1928 Reinhardt was badly injured in a fire that engulfed the caravan he lived in. In the process he burned his hand so badly that he lost the use of his ring finger and pinky of his left hand, and as a result had to relearn the guitar with only the use of two fingers on his fretting hand! Here is my transcription of his two-fingered guitar solo in the song "After You've Gone" from the album titled Djangology.
